Love keeps you healthy
February is the month when LOVE is in the air.
Valentine’s Day is a commercialized day to celebrate romantic love, but the truth is love itself is a biological necessity of life and is needed for good health. Numerous scientific studies have shown that love is vitally important to emotional health as well as our physical wellbeing. This is not only isolated to romantic love, but also includes love as a general social support network including family, friends, associates and even pets.
In order for us to grow and develop normally we need love. We need love and human touch to keep us healthy.
Love is often associated with the heart so in this newsletter we will talk about cardiovascular health. When we think of love we also tend to think of our hormones, so I also have an article about hormonal balance.

Female Hormonal Balance
You suddenly have a feeling of heat and a flush starts from your face then moves to your neck and continues to your chest. You go red and your heart races, while your upper body is perspiring profusely. Moments later, everything is back to normal. Yes, it is the infamous hot flash.
In Canada and the rest of the Western world, we have come to see hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, low libido, vaginal dryness, all the menopausal symptoms as a normal part of the female aging process. I hear many women say, ‘doesn’t everyone go through this at some point’ and my answer is simply ‘no’. If you head to the Eastern part of the world, most women have never heard of or experienced hot flashes, but here in the West, you will see the pendulum shift in the opposite direction. Why the drastic difference between cultures?

It is very true that cow’s milk has a high percentage of calcium within it, but what does that cow eat in order to have that high calcium content? That cow is eating green grass. The most bioavailable form of calcium, the best way for you to consume calcium is from your green leafy vegetables.
