What is the connection between hydration and the immune system?

Seventy percent of our body is water. We want to support our body with clean, filtered water. We want to be drinking enough water to replenish our water stores within the body. Many of us are walking around dehydrated and this is negatively effecting how our bodies function.

The mucous membranes that line our digestive tract and these mucous membranes need to be well hydrated in order for them to function well. Within those mucous membranes we have antibodies that our body will be released if there is any sort of infection in its environment. We have build-in defense mechanisms and we need to support them and one of the major ways we can support that is by drinking water. Drinking water helps to hydrate those mucous membranes, which will allow the mucous membranes to work better, and will release those antibodies within them if needed.

Water helps to clean up our tissues. It helps to flush toxins out of our tissues when we have enough water.

Therefore we need to ensure that we stay well hydrated. This is a daily habit that you have to keep aiming to reach.

If you are one of those people who has a tough time drinking enough water everyday, I have another blog post that gives you tips on how to drink more water.
