SIX Processed oils to Avoid:
- corn oil
- canola oil
- cottonseed oil
- soybean oil
- sunflower oil
- safflower oil
THREE Reasons to Avoid these oils:
- These oils are industrially manufactured using high heat and toxic solvents to extract the oil from the seeds. Industrial processing can damage the oil and transform the fatty acids into dangerous trans fat. Partially hydrogenating vegetable oils makes them more stable and less likely to spoil, which is very good for food manufacturers—and very bad for us to consume. No amount of trans fats are healthy.
- Usually made from genetically modified crops.
- They have high omega-6 content making them more inflammatory in the body.
