Let’s talk about why vitamin D3 should always be paired with vitamin K2.

This is really important information as more people are starting to understand the importance of supplementing with vitamin D3. Especially if you are not getting enough exposure to the sun, like here in Canada where we just don’t get enough sunlight. Some people are supplementing with Vitamin D and it helps to improve our immune system, it helps to improve how our hormones function, it helps with bone health.

Vitamin D helps you to absorb minerals, including calcium. Vitamin K helps to ensure that the minerals that you are absorbing go to the right places. Vitamin K2 ensure that the minerals, like calcium, that they go to the bones as opposed to going to the arteries, which can lead to a hardening of the arteries and heart disease.

So it is very important that vitamin D3 is paired with vitamin K2. The supplement you should be taking of vitamin D is the D3 which is the natural form on vitamin D and you want it to be paired with vitamin K2.

Vitamin D and K are both fat-soluble vitamins so they need to be emulsified in fats or taken with food that has fats in order to properly absorb these vitamins.
