Getting an infection and your immune system having to mount a response and your body having to fight off that infection is exercise for your immune system. It will actually make your immune system stronger. And when your body fights off that infection with your body’s natural, innate immune system, it gives your body natural immunity that to infection and to all of its different variants of that infectious agent. It allows you to know how well your immune system is actually functioning.
It is important for our body’s to fight off different infectious agents throughout our entire lives. It’s not a bad thing for us to get viral infections because this is exercising our immune system, our body is able to mount a natural response and our body can have life-long immunity to that infectious agent as well as any of its variants.
