If bile is thick and congested then the gallbladder is a breeding ground for bacterial overgrowths, and as the bile gets released into the small intestines then the bacterial overgrowth moves into small intestines and causes an imbalance of the microbiome, contributing to small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
