What is the difference between SPROUTED wheat bread and WHOLE wheat bread?

sprouted wheatSprouted bread is made from whole grains that were allowed to sprout or germinate then the sprouted grain is ground into flour.  Whole wheat bread is made from the whole grain and then ground into flour.

Sprouted bread is the closed that bread can come to being a living food.  During the germination process specific biochemical processes occur that increase accessibility to vitamins.  It is less processed and closer to its whole grain roots.  Sprouted breads have a lower glycemic index, therefore it will keep blood sugars more level than other breads.

For individuals with wheat intolerances, sprouted grains are easier to digest than whole grains and are better tolerated.  Therefore, it is recommended that most people consume sprouted grain.

If you have a serious gluten-intolerance or celiac disease sprouted wheat bread is not recommended, as it still contains gluten.
